90% of the American population don’t eat enough fruit and vegetables. According to the CDC, Americans eat fruit once a day and vegetables less than 2 times per day. In fact, not eating enough fruit is the #1 dietary risk and it’s the cause of 4.9 million deaths worldwide.

I think we can all agree that everyone would benefit from eating more fruits and vegetables. Superfoods are a quick and easy way to nourish your body with natural vitamins and minerals nutrients. Superfood powders can be added to smoothies, oatmeal, water, yogurt, dressings — the possibilities are endless!

amla - strengthens liver, good for hair and skin, inflammation, regulates urinary tract, improves digestion and immunity.

acai - are native to Central and South America, especially Brazil where they grow in parts of the Amazon rainforest. Also known as the Brazilian beauty berry, their high antioxidant content (more than blueberries or cranberries) can help prevent signs of anti-aging and keep your skin looking youthful and healthy.

bilberry -  is high in antioxidants, are a good source of flavonoids and possess anti-inflammatory properties.

blueberry - ranked #1 in antioxidant activity. Blueberries are loaded with anthocyanins, the powerful antioxidants that give the berries their distinct bluish-purple color. These anthocyanins protect cells from the damaging effects of free radicals, which can lead to chronic conditions like heart disease, stroke, and cancer. Rich in polyphenols this may protect bones and prevent osteoporosis. May also improve short-term memory loss and ameliorate age-related declines in cognitive function.

aceorola cherry - Despite its name, an Acerola cherry is not a true cherry. The cherry-like berries contain one of the highest levels of vitamin C — even more than oranges. Acerola is also a rich source of vitamin A and antioxidants.

camu camu - is a well-known anti-inflammatory. It has been researched and studied in regards to its application to help counter muscle deterioration as a result of inflammation due to aging and has been rated as having the highest antioxidant capacity of South American fruits. It has been known to promote liver health, increase sperm count and for combating obesity. In addition, the citric acid in Camu camu also aids in the absorption of some minerals like magnesium, which can help with sleep, energy, digestion, and calm the body down..

cranberry - They contain vitamins C, K, B6 and E, along with calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, which is important for the synthesis of collagen, carnitine and fatty acid metabolism.Cranberries are low in calories, containing over 80 percent water and 10 percent carbohydrates. Among other constituents are dietary fiber, protein, salicylic acid, flavonoids, anthocyanins, and triterpenoids.

dragon fruit - improves eye sight and boosts immunity

goji - benefits range from anti-aging effects to glucose regulation and immune function support.

maqui -are extremely high in antioxidants — three times more than blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. They’re primarily rich in anthocyanins, which give the berries their dark purple color. Anthocyanins have been shown to reduce free radical damage, reduce the risk of high blood pressure and even suppress tumor growth.
